The Challenge

What Was Broken

[01]

A brand the business had outgrown

Five years unchanged, the old brand no longer read as "future-proof" or transferable across Helixr's growing consultancy and product lines. The website was the biggest single piece of carrying the new identity into the world.

[02]

No flexible content system

The old site couldn't easily accommodate new case studies, insights, whitepapers or team profiles. Helixr needed bespoke WordPress components and templates built around flexible content blocks, so new pages could be assembled without a developer.

[03]

An undocumented animation spec

The Figma file carried a full-bleed hero video, pinned-scroll sections, rollover micro-interactions, a parallax footer, and modal team-profile overlays - but almost none of it was written down. It had to be reverse- engineered live, screen by screen, on a call with the design agency.

[04]

A large, growing content library

25+ individual consultant bios, dozens of case studies and insights carried over from the old site (each needing some re-design for unique imagery and colour), whitepapers, and news articles — all needing structure in the new templates.

[05]

Multiple simultaneous content pipelines

Copy arrived from Helixr's Marketing Manager working in Excel and directly in Figma dummy frames, from practice directors writing their own sections, and from the design agency updating the Figma file in parallel — all needing reconciliation into one build.

[06]

A zero-disruption migration

The whole site had to be replaced without breaking a single bookmarked link or losing existing search rankings — tested internally first, then cut over to the client's hosting on the exact same URL structure.

Goals and Approach.

[01]

Launch the Rebrand

Ship the new brand identity across every page, built exactly to the creative agency's Figma spec — typography, spacing, colour, and every micro-interaction.

[02]

Protect the SEO Equity

Migrate every case study, insight and blog post on an identical URL so bookmarks stayed intact and existing search rankings carried straight through the switch.

[03]

Give Helixr a Self-Serve CMS

Flexible WordPress content blocks mapped to the Figma design system, so the marketing team could assemble new pages without needing a developer for every change.

[04]

Ship the Animation Spec Faithfully

Deliver the video hero, pinned-scroll product section, rollover cards, modal profiles and parallax footer exactly as briefed — even where the spec had to be reverse-engineered live.

[05]

Support a Growing Content Library

Treat 25+ team bios, case studies, whitepapers and news articles as first-class content types the client could keep adding to long after launch.

[06]

Set Up for Ongoing Growth

Hand over analytics and SEO monitoring at launch, and open the door to a longer-term retainer covering search visibility and continued site support.

Detailed Design Process Over Guesswork.

Onboarding Call

Onboarding Call

The kickoff call brought together Anand Ashok, Helixr's Marketing Manager Sally Walker, Curious London's lead designer Tom Windsor, and Helixr stakeholder Neil Littlejohn. Rather than a scoping conversation, it was a design handover: Tom screen-shared the Figma file and walked through every section — personas and user journeys already completed by the agency, the sitemap, wireframes, and the near-final desktop and mobile templates — annotating animation notes live as he went. It was agreed on the call that Figma was the single source of truth for layout; a separate animation reference file existed only to show motion, not final structure. Testing would happen on Quixta's internal server first, with migration to Helixr's WP Engine hosting only once the client gave a green light.

      Notable Technical Challenges and Solutions

      SEO continuity on launch

Every legacy URL had to migrate unchanged, and Rank Math gave the team direct, in-admin control over meta titles, permalinks and descriptions post-launch — without needing a developer for routine SEO housekeeping.

      Total self-serve

Helixr's Marketing Manager and practice directors were already writing and structuring their own content in Excel and Figma before a single page was built. A headless layer between WordPress and the front end would have added a translation step between the CMS and what the marketing team could see and edit - flexible content blocks kept that loop direct.

Scale and shape of the content

With 25+ individual team bios, dozens of case studies and insights, and a scope that grew by 60+ pages mid-project, the templates needed to be quick to instantiate and easy for a non-technical team to populate - exactly what WordPress's page/component model is built for.

Why We Built this in Webflow

      Technology logo
      Feature image 1

      [01]

      Budget & Timeline fit

A 40-page custom build at $4,600 in 8 weeks. WordPress's battle-tested ecosystem let us move fast without sacrificing quality. A comparable Next.js build would have added 4–6 weeks and significant cost — not the right trade-off for every client.

      Feature image 2

      [02]

CMS the client can actually use

Ibrahim and Ajmal update clinic hours, staff bios, and blog posts without touching code or raising a ticket. WordPress's admin panel works from day one — no training, no dependency on Quixta for routine content changes.

      [03]

      Healthcare plugin ecosystem

Schema markup, GDPR cookie consent, live chat, Google Maps, and Hearlink booking widget — all covered by mature, maintained WordPress solutions. Building this in a headless stack would have been cost-prohibitive.

      [04]

      Full HTML control for SEO

No page builder. No theme. Custom PHP templates for every page type — complete control over heading structure, schema injection, canonical tags, and Core Web Vitals. The 42% position improvement was built into the markup from day one.

      [05]

      Scalable hosting on Cloudways

Deployed on Cloudways (DigitalOcean), not shared hosting. Server-side caching, WP Rocket, WebP images. Fast, scalable, and the client controls their own hosting account — no lock-in to any proprietary infrastructure.

      [06]

      Full ownership on delivery

On go-live: full source code, admin credentials, all design files, CMS walkthrough. No retainer required to keep the site running. No per-seat licensing. No platform fee that scales with traffic. The site belongs to them — not to any vendor.

      Monthly organic clicks

The old site's baseline was ~4,220 monthly organic visits at the time of the June 2025 SEO audit. The new site launched in July 2025. Organic search clicks have held consistently above that baseline every month since, with September 2025 as the peak month. The slight softening in early 2026 reflects seasonality rather than any structural SEO issue — impressions have grown throughout the same period.

What makes a Consultancy website Different

Credibility Comes From People, Not Products

A consultancy sells its consultants. Team bios — 25+ of them on this project — need to load fast, feel personal, and be easy to keep current, not sit buried in a generic "our people" grid.

Trust Signals Have to Survive Migration

Global life-sciences buyers read case studies as evidence, not marketing copy. Migrating and lightly re-designing existing case studies mattered as much as building new pages — nothing could be dropped in the switch.

      Content Never Stops Arriving

Case studies, insights, whitepapers and news are published continuously by the client's own marketing and consulting teams, so the CMS has to make ongoing publishing painless without developer involvement.

The Rebrand Has to Hold Across a Complex Structure

Mega-menus, tabbed solution pages, and multiple content types all have to feel like one coherent brand — especially when the whole point of the project is a brand the business hadn't outgrown yet.

Not every way of building is alike.

      Basic tools / MVPs

Every design decision in this project was grounded in UX research, audience analysis, and competitor benchmarking. We don't open Figma until we understand who the patient is.

      Mid-level platforms

Technical SEO — schema, 301 redirects, URL architecture, on-page optimisation — built into development, not added after. The site ranked within weeks because it was built to rank.

      Advanced / Enterprise systems

The location page template means Direct Ear Care can open a clinic in Leeds and add a ranking-ready page themselves. The digital infrastructure scales with the business.

      What Helixr Said

      Sally Walker

"I couldn't be happier with the work Quixta did for us Anand. Our website is visually simple but large and technically complex and I know how hard the team worked (and how patient you were with me!) to deliver it. Your ongoing help, training and support to enable us to manage as much as we can in-house has also been invaluable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Quixta to anyone looking to build their website."
